Bronx Resident Receives Endowed Scholarship at the University of New Haven

Carly E. Villarruel, of Bronx (10465), was awarded the Nias Foundation Scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year at the University of New Haven (UNH). Villarruel is a Junior majoring in Criminal Justice.

A luncheon in honor of the 2009-2010 UNH Endowed Scholarship donors and recipients was held on Wednesday, October 7, in the Alumni Lounge in Bartels Hall, the campus center. More than 35 donors were in attendance, accompanied by the students who had been awarded the scholarships. This year, more than $285,000 was awarded from endowed scholarships to more than 150 deserving UNH students.
