Jessica Zielinski Selected to Participate in Summer Fellowship at University of New Haven

2014 Jun 11

Jessica Zielinski of Dunkirk, NY has been selected to participate in the University of New Haven's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program.

The program enables students to conduct in-depth, hands-on research, working in collaboration with a faculty mentor. Over the summer, students will conduct research, submitting a final paper and presenting their findings at a campus research symposium in the fall.

Zielinski, a senior studying sustainability studies says her project, "is an investigation into green infrastructure solutions to storm water management. The project will include an in depth study of the efficacy, cost, benefits and drawbacks of using retention basins to address storm water management at the university."

Zielinski's faculty mentor is Can B. Aktas an associate professor and program coordinator in the department of mechanical, civil and environmental engineering.
