Kayla Wyant of Herminie, Pa. , a Senior majoring in Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology will be participating in the UNH Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship. Each student will work with a mentor to complete a project of their choice. Kayla will conduct research with Kendell Coker. The purpose of the project is to discover if the questions from the National Comorbidity Survey (which was done based on information for disorders in the DSM-4) can be mapped to the DSM-5 in order to maintain relevance to the National Comorbidity Survey - Adolescent Supplement (NCS-A). By mapping the survey we should be able to discover prevalence rates of adolescents with mental disorders according to the DSM-5.

What is your career goal(s)?

"I hope to work in corrections for a period of time to provide psychological help to inmates who are in need. My biggest goal at the current time is to work with those who are found not competent to stand trial or not guilty by reason of insanity, and restore them to sanity" she said.
