2014 Jun 11

Rebecca Andreucci of Hamden, CT has been selected to participate in the University of New Haven's Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program.

The program enables students to conduct in-depth, hands-on research, working in collaboration with a faculty mentor. Over the summer, students will conduct research, submitting a final paper and presenting their findings at a campus research symposium in the fall.

Andreucci, a junior studying sustainability studies says her project involves, "finding out why so many farmers are choosing to remain non-organic despite increases in consumer interest."

Andreucci's faculty mentor is Can B. Aktas an assistant professor and program coordinator for sustainability studies.
