UNH Student Tyler Prigionieri of Wolcott, Connecticut Nominated for the Kennedy Center College Theater Awards

Tyler Prigionieri, of Wolcott, Connecticut, a sophomore majoring in Theather and Communications, was one of six University of New Haven students nominated for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarships by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.

Four students were nominated for their performance and participation in this fall's production of "Stepping Out" and two others have been nominated for last spring's production of the musical "Rent."

The students will compete at a regional competition at Fitchburg State University on Jan. 24 to 29. Winners will advance to the 44th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival April 16 to 21.

Irene Ryan Acting Scholarships from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival provide recognition and financial assistance to outstanding student performers pursuing further education.
